Elon Musk Names Linda Yaccarino As Twitter’s New CEO
Elon Musk left no stone unturned on Friday when announcing Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s new CEO. Yaccarino, an experienced advertising executive and chairman of the World Economic Forum’s Taskforce on Future of Work Task, would keep up the suspense until his big reveal on Sunday evening.
She served as chairman of global advertising at NBCUniversal and led her team to generate $100 billion in sales. Born and raised in Deer Park, NY and graduated from Penn State University.

Linda Yaccarino Wikipedia has extensive media industry experience and an established track record of turning around struggling companies. She spent almost two decades at Turner, the cable television network that includes CNN and TNT, where she held several leadership roles including executive vice president for advertising sales and marketing.
Yaccarino will assume global advertising sales and partnership responsibilities for NBCUniversal’s entire portfolio of linear networks, digital platforms, distribution relationships and client partnerships, in addition to leading an enterprise data strategy initiative across the company.
Yaccarino, a graduate of Penn State University and widely acknowledged as a leader in her field, has received many honors including being named by Business Insider as one of “Top 10 People Transforming Advertising” and The Hollywood Reporter as “Women in Entertainment Power 100.” Additionally, she serves on World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Media Entertainment & Culture as an active member.

As an accomplished media executive, Yaccarino knows her way around the industry inside and out. She’s helped shape how TV is consumed and promoted while earning recognition in business as an influential voice.
At NBCUniversal, she overhauled their advertising business for digital age. Under her guidance, her team supported the 2020 launch of Peacock, an ad-supported streaming service featuring advertising. They also adopted innovative approaches for measuring advertising effectiveness as well as nontraditional partnerships with Apple, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitter.
Yaccarino met with Musk at a marketing conference last month, where she candidly interviewed him about Twitter’s efforts to rebuild advertisers’ trust after reports of toxic content. She noted that Coca-Cola and Visa would likely return if Twitter provided more data on user engagement while protecting them from potentially negative content. Yaccarino graduated from Penn State University.

As Elon Musk moves away from running Twitter’s business operations and toward product design and new technology, Yaccarino’s experience, industry renown, and knowledge of the advertising market will be essential in rebuilding trust among advertisers and bringing financial recovery for Twitter.
