Getting Started: How to use Apple Pay?

Apple Pay seems to be a reliable method of payment. It replaces your actual cards and cash with a simpler, safer, more secure, and the private payment option that you may use in stores, online, or when sending money to friends and family. It’s money, but with a twist.

Add your credit, debit, or prepaid cards to your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac to get started.

To use Apple Pay in supported regions, you’ll need the following to get going smoothly:

  • A device that is eligible
  • A participant card issuer’s supported card
  • The most recent version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS is required.
  • iCloud2 signed in with an Apple ID

You must first set up an Apple Pay account if you wish to use Apple Pay on several devices.

You must add your card to each device if you want to use Apple Pay with more than one. To get started, select your device from the list below. You can use your cards on the web in Safari3 on some Mac models when signing in to iCloud after setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch. You may add up to 12 cards to an Apple Watch Series 3 and later, as well as an iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and later.

On the device that you used to apply for Apple Card, your Apple Card4 is automatically added to Wallet and Safari AutoFill. You can also use Touch ID to add Apple Cards to your iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac model.

You may also use Apple Pay to send and receive money with friends and family in the United States, as well as Apple Cash on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

Add a card on your iPhone

In order to add a card on your iPhone you have to follow these steps:

  1. You have to go to the Wallet and tap .
  2. Follow the steps to add a new card. If you’re asked to add the card that you use with your Apple ID, cards on other devices, or cards that you’ve recently removed, you will have to choose the cards and then enter the card security codes. There is a possibility that you might be required to download an app from your bank or card issuer to add a card to Wallet.
  3. You might be required to create or update a 6-digit passcode in mainland China.
  4. After doing this, you will have to Tap Next. Your bank or card issuer will verify your information and then decide if you can use your card with Apple Pay.
  5. If your bank or issuer will need more information to verify your card, they’ll ask you for it. When you have all the required information, you can go back to Wallet and tap your card.
  6. After your bank or issuer verifies your card, you can tap Next and then simply start using Apple Pay.

Add a card on your iPad

In order to add a card on your iPad you will have to follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and then Wallet & Apple Pay.
  2. After that, you will have to tap on the Add Card.
  3. You will be asked the same things as explained above by your bank or issuer that you will have to provide and then you will be able to use Apple Pay smoothly.
