Linda Yaccarino, NBCUniversal’s New Chief Marketing Officer

Linda Yaccarino has proven herself an innovative force within the media industry by creating breakthrough strategies and technologies to revolutionize advertising business practices. She is widely credited for reinventing Upfront marketplace and investing in massive technology investments.

Linda Yaccarino Wikipedia is well-recognized within the media industry, having spent two decades at Turner Broadcasting. However, her appointment as Twitter’s new CEO has raised controversy among right-wing users who contend her affiliation with World Economic Forum could present a conflict of interest when considered against its commitment to free speech and individual liberty.

She is an experienced media executive, capable of leading large conglomerates organizations while still embodying an entrepreneurial mindset. She has built teams from scratch that deliver on promises made to consumers, advertisers, and the broader community of stakeholders.

At NBCUniversal, Yaccarino successfully modernized their advertising business for the 21st century and created an integrated monetization strategy across their properties and networks. She led them through the COVID-19 pandemic by devising an impactful public service campaign which resonated with audiences – earning her numerous industry accolades along the way.

Yaccarino’s departure comes as NBCUniversal prepares for its annual upfront presentations to advertisers next week, when she will be replaced by Mark Marshall as Ad Sales Supervisor of all of NBCUniversal’s broadcast and sports channels. Yaccarino, one of the hard-charging veterans in TV ad sales wars, now leads a team of 2,000 at NBCUniversal and has overseen their creation of over $100 billion in ad revenue since she joined in 2011. Additionally, she’s established relationships with new media companies like Apple News, Snapchat and YouTube – to name but a few!

She graduated from Pennsylvania State University’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications and serves on its governing board, serving on World Economic Forum’s taskforce on future of work as well as interviewing Elon Musk in the past.

No one knows how her departure will impact NBCUniversal, but it could complicate their upfront presentation to advertisers this week. Mark Marshall will likely become more responsible for overseeing national sales teams such as those responsible for streaming and data products; local markets as well as international operations will still fall under his purview.

Furthermore, Josh is responsible for Creative Partnerships group of NBCUniversal that operates as full service creative agency; Branded Content Studios which develops targeted, research-based marketing strategies; as well as managing one Platform Commerce solutions suite of commerce solutions including One Platform Commerce suite of commerce solutions; Creative Partnerships group of which operates full service creative agency; Creative Partnerships group operates full service creative agency and Branded Content Studios which creates engaging, research-based strategies on clients behalf NBCUniversal creative agency for clients’.

Tammy Filler will report directly to Feldman as Vice President of Branded Content and Talent Partnerships of NBCUniversal. Her duties include identifying monetization opportunities related to IP owned or talent licensed from NBCUniversal as well as leading a strategic team of content and talent subject matter experts across their portfolios.

As the new leader of X, Yaccarino is taking on the daunting challenge of rebuilding advertiser trust on what was once known as Twitter. By all objective measures, she claims the platform is now healthier and safer for posting content than before Elon Musk took over control.

She notes that advertisers are safeguarded from being exposed to toxic posts, with tools being developed by the platform to make sure only approved content appears. She acknowledged, though, that advertisers might still not know which X users could potentially post child sexual abuse and other potentially dangerous content.

Will Gonzalez was recently promoted by NBCUniversal to EVP and Chief Data Officer for Direct-to-Consumer. As such, he will oversee a centralized data unit consisting of research teams currently under Entertainment Networks, Sports, Telemundo as well as Telemundo itself. His team will help lead NBCUniversal’s data and consumer insight strategy as well as work closely with other media businesses like Bravo as well as its streaming service.
